New Partnership Will Expand Opportunities for International Research, Teaching and Collaboration
The University of Maryland School of Public Policy formalized a new partnership with the Barcelona Institute of International Studies (IBEI) during a memorandum of understanding signing ceremony on October 19.
Among the ceremony participants were School of Public Policy Dean Gustavo Flores-Macias and IBEI President Jacint Jordana, marking a shared commitment to advancing global approaches to today's most pressing policy challenges. The partnership will create new opportunities for faculty and student exchanges, collaborative research and teaching, joint projects, academic seminars and conferences, and globally focused training programs. These initiatives aim to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and expertise across institutions while providing new avenues for international learning and professional development.
The signing ceremony also marked the launch of a transatlantic short-term programming initiative designed to strengthen international academic engagement.
The collaboration reflects the School's commitment to fostering international partnerships that connect scholars, students and policymakers across borders to address complex global challenges.
