Public Leadership Program
A living-learning program of the University's College Park Scholars, Public Leadership explores the theory and practice of leadership, empowering students to become social change agents through hands-on public service projects and examination of pressing social, political and economic issues. Join a community of students from across the University who are committed to developing their leadership skills for the common good, and examine today's events to become tomorrow's leader.
iGive
A living-learning program in the University's Carillon Communities, iGive explores a big question that matters to our world - how can you use philanthropy, innovation and social change for good? Spend your freshman year with a group of like-minded students as you identify a social cause you share a passion for and then develop and practice leadership skills as you support a local nonprofit organization.
The Karabelle Pizzigati Initiative in Advocacy for Children, Youth and Families
The Karabelle Pizzigati Initiative in Advocacy for Children, Youth and Families builds a pipeline of informed, effective advocates to ensure all children are healthy, safe, learning and joyful. The Karabelle Pizzigati Initiative Fellowship inspires the best and brightest students to pursue careers in children's advocacy. Through this experience, students gain experience and insight into the field by working in organizations who make a real difference in the lives of children. Throughout the fellowship, students learn from recognized experts in a 10-week paid internship. In addition to the internship, students will be coached and mentored, preparing them to enter a career in children's advocacy.
Rawlings Undergraduate Leadership Fellows Program
Honoring the legacy of Howard Peters "Pete" Rawlings and his decades of public service in the Maryland House of Delegates, the Rawlings Program provides you the opportunity to champion causes you're passionate about and advocate for those in the community that are underserved and marginalized. Combining mentorship, engagement with expert faculty and public leaders, and hands-on experiences working in the community, the Rawlings Program realizes your commitment to ethical leadership and public service.
Federal & Global Fellows Programs
The high-impact fellowship programs Federal Fellows and Global Fellows in Washington, DC, prepare talented, diverse students for careers of significance and impact. Each concentration combines a fall seminar with a spring internship for credit, and includes professional development workshops and one-on-one coaching throughout the year. Our concentrations include: Political Engagement & Advocacy, Critical Regions & International Relations, International Security & Intelligence, Homeland Security Policy, Energy & Environmental Policy, Public Health Policy, Responses to Global Challenges, Science Diplomacy, U.S. Diplomacy, and Global Health Challenges & Water Security.
Do Good Student Programs
Accelerator Fellows: Do you have an idea that could change someone’s life? Are you working on a Do Good project or social venture that could benefit from coaching, programming, and/or financial support? Receive up to $3,000 dollars to explore, test or scale up your project or venture.
The ideal student for this program is one who is in the implementation phase.
Do Good Challenge
The Do Good Challenge recognizes students from across campus that have spent the year developing solutions for pressing social issues. The Challenge culminates in a Finals event, where six teams are selected to pitch their project or venture and the impact they've made for the chance to win a share of more than $20,000.
Mini-Grants
Do Good Mini-Grants provide funding for the development and implementation of student-led, student-run proposals that aim to create a positive social or environmental impact. Receive up to $500 to support your project or venture.
Impact Interns
Impact Interns is a professional development and leadership program that connects Do Good students to paid social impact-based internship opportunities with alumni organizations and partners of the Do Good Institute.
