Tania Lamprea is an economist, pursuing a PhD candidate in public policy at the University of Maryland. She is deeply engaged in social and environmental issues, with a special focus on just transitions. Lamprea holds a Master of Science in Economics from Rosario University, Bogotá, where she explored wage gender gaps in the Colombian urban labor market. She also earned a bachelor's degree in economics, graduating among the top of her class. Outside of her professional life, Lamprea enjoys outdoor cycling and indulging in her love for ice cream.
As a graduate student research assistant, Lamprea has demonstrated expertise in education and labor market research. In this capacity, she has contributed to significant projects, including evaluating Mexico's Progresa program and conducting geospatial analyses for policy reports in Washington, D.C. Before her current studies, Lamprea served as a senior advisor at Colombia's National Planning Department, where she developed methodologies for analyzing household spending patterns, examined gender wage inequality, and played a key role in shaping government strategies for Venezuelan migration.
